Around it, solar mesh nodes stretch across ridges and crofts, linking emergency fobs, livestock tags, soil probes, and weather micro‑stations into one unified safety and land‑care system. This AI unit handles all fob alerts, sensor readings, livestock boundary tags, soil data, and hazard reports locally, without relying on mobile signal or external servers. Nothing is transmitted to the cloud; all data remains inside the Eco‑Hub, under community ownership.
Cabin
The cabin also functions as a workshop and relay station. Mesh nodes are built and maintained here, emergency signals are routed through its systems, and crofters access their local dashboards from this secure point. In harsh weather or power outages, the Eco‑Hub continues running independently, acting as a dependable anchor for the entire Sentinel network.
The Sunken AI Core

Beneath the floor of the Eco‑Hub lies the sunken AI core — the engine that drives the entire Sentinel System. Set into the ground for thermal stability and protection from Highland weather, this unit processes every alert, sensor reading, and data point without relying on external servers or mobile networks. By keeping the hardware below ground level, the system benefits from naturally regulated temperatures, reduced noise, and increased resilience during storms or power fluctuations.
The AI core handles all computation locally. When a hiker triggers an SOS, when a crofter’s livestock tag detects a boundary breach, or when a soil probe reports a change in ground conditions, the AI processes it inside the cabin and routes the information through the mesh network. No cloud services, no external data centres, and no third‑party access. Everything remains within the Highlands, under community ownership and protected by the physical security of the Eco‑Hub.
